.เเอลินอร์ (เซียร์ซ่า โรแนน) และ คลาร่า (เจมม่า อาร์เตอร์ตัน) สองแม่ลูกที่หนีจากการตามล่าของตำรวจ
จนมาถึงเมืองเล็กๆริมทะเล ที่พวกเธอพยายามเริ่มต้นชีวิตใหม่ โดย คลาร่า ก็เป็นสาวยุคใหม่ที่มีความมั่นใจ
และไม่เคยคิดที่จะหันไปมองอดีต ในขณะที่ เอลินอร์ ก็เป็นผู้หญิงขี้อายและเงียบขรึม
